The symposium aims to address the challenges and future directions in the risk assessment of genotoxic substances. It will bring together experts from different disciplines either from academia, industry or regulatory authorities worldwide to present and discuss their activities.
So far, genotoxicity data are mainly interpreted in a qualitative way, which typically results in a binary classification of chemical entities. However, there is a long-lasting and controversial discussion about the need for a paradigm shift in this regard. With lectures, workshops and a concluding panel the symposium will build a platform to discuss the current opportunities, challenges and perspectives for a more quantitative approach to genotoxicity assessment.
The symposium aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange, leading to improved risk assessment strategies for genotoxic substances.
It is intended for experts with experience in genotoxicity assessment and will take place as a face-to-face meeting in Berlin. Additionally, streaming of the introductory talks and the concluding panel will be set up.
